The results are in!

Top Of Utah 1/2 Marathon 13.1 miles
Aug. 29th 2009
295th place #947 Amber JACKSON 02:36:52
130th place #948 Ryan JACKSON 02:36:52

Daniel took our pictures when we got home! :D

We had a great time with no injuries or set backs. This time was right in line with my goal for myself; 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Our time shows that we averaged 12 min. miles, but we had some potty breaks and walked through every rest stop, so really we ran 11 min. miles and made up the difference in the stops. :)
Overall, It was an amazing experience and accomplishment!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement all along the way!

1st day of Kindergarten

Dan and Russ were soooooo very excited to start kindergarten this week! They are in different classes and have new friends. The bus ride home is for sure the highlight!!!

Lydia was pretty sad that she couldn't go to school with the twins. But, she changed her tune really fast when we got home and just played the whole time. :)

Circus tent

Last week we had a neighborhood yard sale in the POURING RAIN! We made a huge tent out of a tarp and put up some canopies, but it was still very wet. We are going to try again this week and see if more people come.

Summer time photos

My family is from Mendon and on the way to visit one day I took some photos. It is such a beautiful place! I love the different seasons. Summer has been fun, but I am excited for fall to come again and see the colors change. :) Enjoy!

Do crafts "BUG" you?

Often I have grand ideas for doing crafts with my kids. I'll get everything ready and then they go nuts and I'm too swallowed up in the chaos to enjoy the moment. LOl
Well, today my 11 year old brother in law and his 2 cousins came over for about 4 hours. You better believe that I had a surplus of board-um busters ready! ;)
First we had Bug Olympics; everyone caught a bug and put it in the center of a sidewalk chalk target and the first bug to crawl or hop out of the outer circle was the winner. We tryed grasshoppers, potato bugs, and ear wigs.
Second, we made bugs out of rocks, sticks, and flowers. This was a big hit and everyone made several different ones.
Third, we made race cars from toilet paper rolls. This was more work and more MESS! but it's done now and everyone had a fun time!
